"Ms. Informer" is about a shift in accountability.
It follows the journey of realization of our role in our own ignorance. The sources we use and information we take in becomes a part of our identity and warps the lens of our perspective. The song starts by condemning these sources for poisoning us with lies and negativity.
Later, it examines the role of the consumer. There is a recognition that we, as the viewer/ listener are the real reason of our deceit/pain, because we have allowed ourselves to fall into it, often willingly.
Rather than simply being bitter, we find that we are a mis-informer to ourselves. By taking accountability we gain new clarity from our mistakes which will make us wiser from the fall.
And I won't settle for much, when I uncover all the things I know you cover up.
Through hand pressed ears I hear your bloody fists, and no god loves the sins I see you commit.
And I know it all, you serve it and we eat it from the trough.
Hey Ms. Informer
You keep me satisfied with all the words you say
I won't settle down,
You got me stranded here and it keeps me at bay.
Some truer things I know are said, but when the curtain falls I know we'll soon be seeing real, With all those things you've got to hide, you spit your darkness out in turn to shade the light.
